Thrashers sign Angelo Esposito

The Atlanta Thrashers signed forward Angelo Esposito to a multi-year contract on Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Esposito, 19, was acquired by Atlanta from the Pittsburgh Penguins in a trade deadline deal along with Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen and a first-round selection in the 2008 NHL draft in exchnage for Marian Hossa and Pascal Dupuis.

The Montreal native, who has yet to appear in the NHL, has enjoyed a solid junior career with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with 96 goals and 150 assists in 173 games.

He was also awarded the 2006-07 Mike Bossy Trophy, given annually to the QMJHL player judged to be the best professional prospect.

Esposito was originally selected by the Penguins in the first round (20th overall) of the 2007 NHL draft.
