Ducks ink Montador to 1-year deal

Free agent defenceman Steve Montador has signed a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks.
Montador, 28, had his best offensive season in 73 games with the Florida Panthers in 2007-08, posting career-highs in goals (8), assists (15), points (23), power-play goals (2) and shots (96).
The 6-0, 211-pound undrafted blue-liner began his NHL career with Calgary, signing with the Flames as a free agent in 2000. On Dec. 2, 2005, Calgary dealt Montador along with Dustin Johner to Florida in exchange for forward Kristian Huselius.
In 290 NHL games with the Panthers and Flames, the Vancouver native has posted 14 goals and 33 assists (47 points) with 461 penalty minutes.
