The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed wide receivers Terrence Edwards and Derick Armstrong on Tuesday.

Both imports inked one-year contracts, plus an option.

Edwards, 29, caught 80 passes last season for 1,280 yards, second only to Geroy Simon's 1,308 receiving yards for the British Columbia Lions.

He also hauled in nine touchdowns.

Edwards averaged 16.0 yards per catch — a fraction less than teammate Milt Stegall's 16.1-yard average — and earned a CFL all-star selection.

Edwards had 39 catches for 437 yards and one touchdown in two previous seasons with the Montreal Alouettes.

Armstrong, 29, led the Blue Bombers with 83 receptions worth 1,142 yards and scored six touchdowns.

He snared 13 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in Winnipeg's 31-26 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Labour Day Classic at Mosaic Stadium.

Armstrong has amassed 208 catches for 2,984 yards and 15 touchdowns in four CFL seasons — two with the Roughriders and two with the Blue Bombers.

He spent three seasons in the NFL with the Houston Texans before signing with Winnipeg on Sept. 19, 2006.
